Last year is behind us now and it’s already mid-January~
Now that we’re actually done hosting folks in our middle of nowhere, me and Mike have put on our ~home improvement~ hats and are figuring out how we’ll use the warmer months.
After 2 feet of snow outside and an untold amount of snow melt inside, we’re considering replacing some of the original skylights or possibly the roof. Not an easy first project of the year, but at least a necessary one. Replacing some of the bigger windows would help greatly with heat loss issues but again, kind of a big project~
On the smaller side of improvements, a package collection pallet for the end of the driveway or a triple bay compost hub are competing for first place. While all of these projects need doing at some point, we want to use this summer to prep for next winter since we’re now feeling all the work we didn’t do last year.
All the project planning has gotten me excited for the upcoming growing season and with the new addition of a tractor, it’s going to make dealing with the yards of gravel we have much more manageable.
I’m glad you have a tractor! We tried moving gravel without one when we moved into our place. Not recommended. ๐ Good luck with all your 2023 projects! Lovely photo. -lisa
Thanks so much Lisa! We’ve done some non-tractor removal in the past and we’re over it haha. Good luck in your own garden~ ๐
